Portugal Weighted Investment Fund: The Fund invests at least 60% of its assets in capital instruments of commercial companies established in Portugal. For the rest, the Fund may invest in shares, bonds (corporate and secondary), ETFs and shares of other investment funds. The minimum initial subscription amount is €100,000. Golden Visa applicants must invest a total of at least €500,000 in the funds. The Fund is open-ended and has daily liquidity, meaning investors can request a redemption at any time.

Golden Visa Application Process
1. Obtaining a Portuguese tax number – This can be done remotely with a notarized0 1 power of attorney and other notarized documents.
2. Opening a bank account in Portugal – This step can be done with a notarized power of attorney.
3. Transferring the funds required for investment – Portuguese authorities are meticulous about the sources of funds.
4. Investing in the fund – Choosing the investment fund and transferring the sum first to the Portuguese bank account and then to the fund's account.
5. Submission of the process to AIMA (Portuguese Immigration Authority) analysis – Once all the necessary documents have been submitted, it currently takes around 24 months for the Portuguese Immigration Authority to pre-approve the process. However, the 5-year process starts from this point.
6. Biometric appointment – An appointment where biometric data such as fingerprints, signature and photograph are collected is arranged based on the client’s availability. All original documents must be presented at the time of appointment.
7. Issuance of the residence card – Within 6 to 9 months after the biometric data collection, the residence permit is sent to the specified address in Portugal or can be collected directly by power of attorney.
